Live · auditing the AI-visible web

AI visibility audit tool.
Evidence before assumptions.

CiteFuel is an AI visibility audit tool that combines a published 26-check technical-readiness framework with sampled answer-engine presence. Use it as a GEO audit and AI crawlability checker, then review the evidence and optional implementation drafts it returns: llms.txt, applicable JSON-LD, robots.txt policy suggestions, and passage rewrites. Every artifact requires factual and implementation review; none guarantees ranking or citation.

The audit engine

Watch a real audit
tear a site apart.

One URL in. We compare robots.txt and server responses using documented crawler labels, validate optional llms.txt against your own sitemap, score passage-level citability with an LLM, test Core Web Vitals, and sample live AI answer engines — then generate reviewable implementation artifacts. Confirm every URL, claim, policy choice, and structured-data property against the live site before shipping.

Original research

We inventoried AI crawlability across 10,000 domains.

CiteFuel's June 2026 study examined five configuration signals across 10,000 popularity-ranked Tranco domains. Of the 7,543 reachable homepages, 6.9% published an llms.txt file and 12.5% disallowed at least one tracked crawler or product-control token. It is a point-in-time configuration inventory — not a ranking study and not the current 26-check product score.

How it works

URL in. Fix files out.

01

Paste your URL.
We crawl in 90 seconds.

CiteFuel sends GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and 11 other AI crawlers through your site's robots.txt and llms.txt. We test 26 signals across 5 categories. No install. No plugin. One URL.

02

Your report surfaces every gap.

Exactly which AI crawlers you're blocking, which passages fail citability scoring, whether your schema.org markup is AI-readable, and where your llms.txt is missing, malformed, or incomplete. Severity tiers: P0 tested critical block · P1 material gap · P2 quick fix.

03

We hand you reviewable implementation artifacts.

Reviewable implementation artifacts: an optional llms.txt draft, a robots.txt policy block, suggested passage rewrites, and applicable JSON-LD. Validate every fact and live response before shipping.

Frequently asked questions

What is CiteFuel and what makes it different from other GEO audit tools?

CiteFuel audits technical readiness and sampled AI presence, reports unavailable evidence, and produces reviewable optional llms.txt, robots.txt, JSON-LD, and passage artifacts. The artifacts require factual and implementation validation and do not guarantee ranking or citation.

What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and why does it matter?

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is a name for applying durable search, accessibility, content-quality, and measurement practices to AI answer surfaces. It can improve technical eligibility and help teams measure presence, but it cannot ensure that a page will be selected, ranked, recommended, or cited.

What is llms.txt and does my site need one?

llms.txt is a voluntary proposal for publishing a curated Markdown map of a site. A service may choose to consume it, but adoption by major answer engines is not established. Google Search explicitly ignores llms.txt, so it neither helps nor hurts classic rankings, AI Overviews, or AI Mode. CiteFuel can generate and validate the optional file without claiming a ranking benefit.

Which AI crawlers does CiteFuel check?

CiteFuel evaluates robots.txt policy for 14 crawler and product tokens, including GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, YouBot, Meta-ExternalAgent, and Applebot-Extended. Training, retrieval, user-triggered, and control tokens are labeled separately. Google-Extended and Applebot-Extended are non-requesting product-policy tokens; Google-Extended has no effect on Google Search or AI Overviews rankings.

How accurate is the AI citability score?

CiteFuel's score blends two internal measurements: a 26-check Readiness table and a separately sampled Visibility layer that records positive brand-presence readings. Presence is not uniformly a recommendation or citation. Reports disclose completed engines, sample count, confidence interval, coverage, and unavailable evidence; the score is not a ranking guarantee.

What does a "P0 block" mean in my report?

P0 (Priority Zero) is CiteFuel's operational label for a tested access, security, or indexability failure on the named surface. It does not include a missing optional llms.txt file, and it does not prove that every route to visibility is impossible. P0/P1/P2 prioritize remediation; they are not estimates of ranking or citation probability.

Can I use CiteFuel if I'm an SEO agency?

Yes. The white-label plan ($199/mo or $129/report) gives you branded PDF reports, reseller pricing, and API access (beta). Email sales@citefuel.com to discuss.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes. If your Starter or Site Audit report doesn't identify at least 3 actionable P0 or P1 fixes, we'll refund in full — no questions asked. GEO gaps are almost universal.
